Brisbane City Council (BCC) have a facility on their website for locals to help update protections for character housing in Moorooka and Salisbury. You can simply drop map pins to mark out 'intact character streetscapes' adding a comment and optional photograph to each.

From the website:
What is an intact character streetscape?

An ‘intact character streetscape’ is a street where there are several houses built before 1947 which have traditional character features like traditional timber and tin Queenslanders and 1920s masonry art deco buildings.

It is fun identifying character houses by comparing old maps on Qimagery with current maps of your local area on Google Maps. Confirming details can be done by booking a visit to the Brisbane City Archives in Moorooka.
