Welcome to saveMoorooka.org,

This is a non-partisan, community-sourced information and resource website about the proposed Brisbane City Council (BCC) development plans for the local area, including Moorooka.

My partner and I live in the area directly affected so have spoken to a few of the local politicians and a member of the BCC Neighbourhood Planning Team.

After meeting a number of Moorooka residents who feel these plans are a bit misguided and could be negative to the liveability of our local area, we decided a dedicated website was the way to go.

Whether you are a home owner or renter this plan affects the whole community. Anyone can provide feedback, from ideas about more green space, better facilities for the community to proposed building height limits.

The BCC needs and wants feedback from locals to help better inform it’s decisions and fortunately public submissions for the draft strategy plan have been extended to 11.59pm Monday 26 July 2021.

This site is a central repository of information and provides a focused forum for people to have a conversation about the topics around the future of our beloved suburb.

First, I recommend looking at the plan @ https://www.brisbane.qld.gov.au/planning-and-building/planning-guidelines-and-tools/neighbourhood-planning-and-urban-renewal/neighbourhood-plans-and-other-local-planning-projects/nathan-salisbury-moorooka-neighbourhood-plan

Read some of the submitted blog articles and resources on this website and please help improve and save Moorooka.

Regards,
Alex Shaw
